The film was shot in Brazil and is the result of an Italian-French-Brazilian co-production. Although the plot is relatively thin, the film boasts a cast with famous actors such as Walter Chiari and Sylva Koscina. It also features some renowned Brazilian bossa nova musicians, including Antônio Carlos Jobim, Luiz Bonfá, João Gilberto and the group Os Cariocas, all playing themselves.
