Antonio Vignanelli and Peppino Caprioli are two heads of household driven to exasperation by the bizarre hobbies and strange obsessions that rage among their respective family members. In addition to the numerous problems caused by these fixations, the two are mistaken for madmen and end up being interned in an asylum.

It is in front of the director of the asylum that Antonio and Peppino recount the intricate misunderstandings that led to their admission. In reality, all these misunderstandings are the result of the strange obsessions of their relatives.
